Dr. Zaveri received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from University of Kentucky and the B.Tech. from Indian Instituteof Technology. Dr. Zaveri's research interests encompass Knowledge Management, Decision Support Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and others. Dr. Zaveri has numerous research publications that have appeared in Decision Science, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, and Decision Support Systems and a book chapter in Manufacturing Decision Support Systems (Chapman-Hall). He also has numerous research presentations and articles presented at major national and international conferences and has worked on numerous projects for several agencies including the National Transportation Center, and the National Security Agency.

2000-01 Co-principal Investigator and Project Co-ordinator, Maryland CVISN (Commercial Vehicles Information Systems and Networks) Program - Maryland Motor Carrier Program Safety Assurance Evaluation Project, Maryland Department of Transportation and National Transportation Center, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland.

The major objective of this project was to collect, analyze, and document the safety profile of commercial motor vehicles traveling in Maryland. This project also determines the effectiveness of using safety algorithms for the selection process of commercial vehicles for safety inspection. Responsibilities also included managing a team of two student interns.

1999-00 Co-principal Investigator and Project Co-ordinator, Maryland CVISN Program - Maryland Motor Carrier Program Safety Assurance Evaluation Project, Maryland Department of Transportation and National Transportation Center, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland.

The objective of the project was to evaluate the safety assurance activities of Maryland's Roadside Enforcement Program due to the current implementation of CVISN-related computer and communications systems used to collect and distribute safety-related data. Responsibilities also included managing a team of two student interns.

1998-99 Co-principal Investigator and Project Co-ordinator, Maryland CVISN Program - Benefit-Cost Assessment of CVISN in Maryland Project, Maryland Department of Transportation and National Transportation Center, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland.

The objective of the project was to research, analyze, and document the costs incurred and tangible and intangible benefits accrued to state agencies and commercial motor carriers due to the implementation of various components of CVISN. Responsibilities also included managing a team of two student interns.

1997-98 Co-principal Investigator and Project Co-ordinator, Maryland CVISN Program - Baseline Study of Processes Project, Maryland Department of Transportation and National Transportation Center, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland.
